5. AI and Automated Decision-Making

Village uses artificial intelligence (specifically, Anthropic's Claude AI) for the following purposes:

  • Lead Classification: When a homeowner sends a text message describing a service need, the message text is sent to Anthropic's AI for classification. The AI extracts the service category, urgency level, and location information from the message.
  • Conversational Responses: The AI generates natural-language text-message responses to homeowners during the service matching process, including confirmation messages, clarification questions, and follow-up communications.
  • Provider Matching Impact: AI classification directly determines which service category a lead is assigned to, which in turn affects which Providers are eligible to receive the lead through Village's auction system. This is an automated decision that affects which Providers are matched to your service request.

What data is sent to Anthropic: The text content of homeowner messages and conversation context. We do not send your name, email, address, or other personal identifiers to Anthropic beyond what may be included in your message text.

Anthropic's data practices: Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy and data retention practices. We encourage you to review Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

Human review: You may contact us at will@jobsonvillage.com to request human review of any AI-driven decision that affects your experience on Village.
